Our First Visit to Brisbane, Australia

We wanted to explore Brisbane in Style: Where Urban Luxury meets natural wonder. We wanted to escape to Brisbane, Australia's rising lifestyle capital, blends sophisticated city living with eco-adventures along the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

We flew into the Brisbane airport and took an Uber to the Point hotel on Kangaroo Point. It was like an island that was a waterway away from downtown Brisbane. We walked down to the Holman Street ferry terminal and waited for the free ferry. We learned there are CityCats and KittyCats. There are two types of CityCats, one paid and one free. The free ones have a red banner or sign in the window.

From the water, Brisbane has a beautiful skyline with modern skyscrapers and interesting buildings.

Streets are clean and people are friendly.

We hopped off the free CityCat at South Point and explored the area. We could see lots of South Bank investment properties popping up, especially all the Southpoint Brisbane apartments for sale. After looking around, we were wondering where to eat in South Bank Brisbane or should we head home and call for food delivery in South Bank area. We found a Thai restaurant that served delicious Thai styled dishes.

Wondering how to use Uber in Brisbane? No problem, just use your Uber app and hire a car.

The next morning, we changed hotels using Uber to move from Kangaroo Point to the Ibis Styles Hotel on Elizabeth Street.

My cousins William and Min picked us up the next morning from the hotel and drove us to his parent's house where we visited the family. They drove us to the Gold Coast for lunch and some sightseeing.

After picking out our lunch at Charis Seafoods, we found they had a gathering of pelicans and people in the back near Ian Dipple Lagoon where they feed the pelicans every day at 1:30pm.

On our last day in Brisbane, we took an Uber to the Lone Pine Sanctuary where Cindy had the chance of a lifetime, to hold a koala bear. I had fun feeding kangaroos and we saw a platypus for the first time. We spent a nice day at the zoo then took the bus back to our hotel.

We had a few hours before our flight to Singapore so we went for a walk and ended up at the City Botanic Gardens. It was a large garden and we only saw part of it before we went to dinner.

Later that day, we picked up our luggage from the hotel and took an Uber to the airport for a red eye flight to Singapore.
