Touring False Creek by Water Taxi

Here is one of our favorite past times in Vancouver, BC and you get a Vancouver city tour by boat. It is one of the most scenic boat rides in Canada. Since trying it a few years ago, we really enjoy it and we recommend it to visitors, friends and families to follow us and try it.

There are multiple places around False Creek where you can take an eco-friendly False Creek water taxi. If you want to get from Granville Island to Yaletown, you can take a water taxi from your luxury hotel near the marina instead of fighting traffic on the bridges.

Drive and park at one of the parking lots near a False Creek ferry stop, walk down to the pier and catch the water ferry. You can purchase a Vancouver water taxi ticket on board or a day pass. The day pass is the best deal because it allows you to get on and get off as many times as you want within a day.

There are two main operators. AquaBus vs False Creek Ferries. We have tried them both but we like the False Creek Ferries a little more. The reason is because they visit Kitsilano or the Maritime Museum and with AquaBus, they don't.

On some water ferries, you get up close and personal with the Captain.

It is best in the summer months when it gets hot and toasty on land.

There is a lot of exploring when you ride the water ferry around False Creek.

On one trip, I wanted to stop by the Maritime Museum to see a submarine up close. We walked all around it and played 'Yellow Submarine' by the Beatles on our iPhone. We then strolled down the path towards the Kitsilano salt water pool where we did not take a swim but we bought an ice cream cone and just relaxed on the beach.

This is one of the stops you can make. From here, you can visit the Science museum. This dome was built for Expo 86 when Vancouver hosted the World Expo.

Have you been on the water ferries in Vancouver? If so, please leave us a comment. If not, try to make it out on a nice summer day.
